Hello Texas Twirl Fans!
It is that exciting time of year where twirlers are auditioning for twirling spots for the Fall. This blog hopes to help spread the excitement by announcing the selections for the lovely twirlers we will see on the field very soon in Texas or representing out of State. If you have an announcement for new twirler selections for 2025-26, please email texastwirlcontact@gmail.com so that we can help spread the word!
Today's we announce the new 2025-2026 Baylor University Golden Girl Feature Twirlers!
The Baylor Golden Girls, led by Coordinator Lynn Dell Harrell, are coveted twirling spots in the community, as these positions have a history of being held by some amazing athletes. We are super excited to see that this Fall season will be no different! Returning this season will be Golden Girls Josie D'Acquisto & Maggie Chrudimsky, and joining them at McLane Stadium will be newcomers, Alexa Leitzel & Grazi D'Acquisto!
One of the new faces to the field this season will be Alexa Leitzel! Alexa is from Clay Center, Kansas, where she was a Tiger Twirler at Clay Center Community High School. She is coached by Lori Perkins and Kora Slagle. Alexa is also a 2X member of Team USA that competed in England in 2023 and is headed to Italy this summer. "I am excited to go to Italy for Solo, Artistic Twirl, Artistic Twirl Pairs, and Dance Twirl Team!"
We asked Alexa what brought her to Baylor, and she told us that she originally became interested in Baylor after joining a team with veteran Golden Girl, Maggie. "I love that Baylor is a Christian university while still offering a big game-day feel. Baylor has an amazing twirling program and legacy that I am excited to join! I can't wait for my first season as a Golden Girl with Josie, Maggie, and Grazi! Sic 'Em!"
Also new to the field this season will be Grazi D'Acquisto! Grazi is from Redding, California. She started twirling locally at a young age with Irene Mazzini then switched to Kellie Perelman "to experience a more competitive side of twirling!" Grazi is also a member of Team USA 2025. "I am on the elite team Revolution, and we are so excited to represent the USA in Italy this summer!"
Grazi's last name may seem familiar because, yes, she is Veteran Golden Girl Josie's sister! "Watching my sister start her collegiate twirling career made me realize how much I love Baylor. I was unsure at first if I wanted to follow her but I’m so glad I decided to! I was able to watch her grow as a golden girl and see the passion she has for the sport at the college level! I was lucky enough to be able to experience what game days are like alongside Josie, Maggie, Alexa, and of course the band, which definitely helped me make my decision! I’m so excited to see what the next four years has to offer! Sic ‘em!"
We can't wait to see Alexa, Grazi, Josie, and Maggie together this fall, and we know they be fantastic representatives of Baylor University both here in the US and across the pond in Italy! Go Bears & Go Team USA! Sic Em!
