2020 Fall Twirler Announcements - Baylor University

Hello Texas Twirl Fans!

It is that exciting time of year where twirlers are auditioning for twirling spots for the Fall. This blog hopes to help spread the excitement by announcing the selections for the lovely twirlers we will see on the field very soon in Texas, and representing out of State. Today we announce the selection of the 2020-21 Baylor University Golden Girl Feature Twirlers!


The Baylor Golden Girls, lead by Coordinator Lynn Dell Harrell, are coveted twirling spots in the twirling community, as these positions have a history of being held by some of the area's best. We are super excited to see that this Fall season will be no different! Returning this season will be Golden Girls Jillian Taylor & Paige Glass, and joining them at McLane Stadium will be newcomer, Mallory Remm!


Jillian Taylor, who was named as the Fall 2020 Twirler Captain, is originally from Tustin, California. She will be a Senior this Fall and is double majoring in corporate innovation and marketing. This will be her fourth season with Baylor, and she can't wait to make more unforgettable memories cheering on her Bears.











Paige Glass, who is a Texas girl from Gonzales. This Fall she will be a Senior, and she is studying biochemistry on the pre-med and honors tracks. This will be her fourth season with Baylor and she can't wait to cheer on the bears with thousands of her closest friends again.










Mallory Remm is the newest addition to the Golden Girls. Coming to Texas from Sussex, Wisconsin, She will be studying communication sciences and disorders. In Wisconsin she was the Feature Twirler for her High School, a member of the Revolutions Twirling Club, and was coached by Anna Spiers and Aryn Swann. When asked what brought her all the way down to Baylor, she told us "as soon as I stepped on Baylor's campus it felt like home! The campus traditions, welcoming community, Baylor spirit, and the amazing people I met along the way made Baylor stand out for me from other schools. I am so honored to represent Baylor University and I cannot wait to take the field as a Golden Girl!"




What an amazing group of twirlers to be together on the same field. Makes you want to break out your green and gold and yell "Sic Em Bears!" We want to give a big welcome to Mallory and a congrats to Paige and Jillian. We wish you all a wonderful football season!

2020 Fall Twirler Announcements - Missouri Southern State University

Today we announce the 2020-21 Missouri Southern State University Feature Twirler!


MSSU is located in Joplin, Missouri, and is the home of the Lions. It is now also the home away from home to Texas Twirler, Alexis Maggard! Alexis will be a Junior at MSSU this Fall where she will be majoring in Social Work. Previously, she was the Twirler at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, and her parents live in Frisco. Alexis is very excited that at MSSU this Fall she will have a Co-Feature, Tori Cooper. She tells us, “I can't wait to share the MSSU field with one of my long time friends!"

Congrats to Alexis! We know you will be amazing in the green and gold! Go Lions!

Today we announce the 2020-21 University of Houston Feature Twirlers!



The U of H Feature Twirlers, lead by Coach Jennifer Garrison, are "an elite Team of Baton Twirling Soloists who are integral contributors to the entertainment value of the Spirit of Houston Marching Band". This year U of H is welcoming two new twirlers to the field... Ainsley McDonald and Emily Mitchell!

Ainsley is from Whitehouse, TX. She will enter UH in the Fall as a true Freshman studying Human Development & Family Studies. Emily is from White Oak, TX. She will begin her first year at UH as a Sophomore majoring in English. You can see these ladies this fall rocking it at the TDECU Stadium.

Congrats to Emily and Ainsley! We know you will make the scarlet and silver look good!

2020 Fall Twirler Announcements - Lamar University Cardinalettes

Today we announce the 2020-21 Lamar University Cardinalette Twirlers!



Lamar University, location in Beaumont, Texas, is the home of the Cardinals and the Cardinalette Twirling line! The Cardinalette Twirlers came back to the field less than ten years ago with the return of football and a marching band to Lamar University. In 2017 the line received a new name, a new coach, and a new look! This years tryouts were held virtually in April, and the seven members of the 2020-21 line were selected.

The 2020-21 Cardinalettes Twirlers include:

  • Head Twirler: Lauren Cole - 4th Year Twirler. Early Education Major from Port Neches, Tx
  • Kaitlyn Marley - 5th Year Twirler. Music Education Major from Nederland, Tx 
  • Alyza Steen - 2nd Year Twirler. Chemical Engineering Major from Nederland, Tx
  • Katie Gillard - 2nd Year Twirler. Nursing Major from Nederland, Tx
  • Catarina Tran - 2nd Year Twirler. Music Education Major from Nederland, Tx
  • Laney Powdrill - 2nd Year Twirler. Communications Major from Buna, Tx
  • Abbygail Walden - 1st Year Twirler. General Studies Major from Vidor, Tx

We are excited to continue to follow this program and we wish the Cardinalettes an amazing season!

2020 Fall Twirler Announcements - San Diego State University

Hello Texas Twirl Fans!

It is that exciting time of year where twirlers are auditioning for twirling spots for the Fall. Today we announce one of the 2020-21 San Diego State University Twirlers!


San Diego State University, also known as SDSU, is located in San Diego, California, and is the home of the Fighting Aztecs. Lead by Coach, and Former College Miss Majorette of America, Catherine Watters, SDSU has been building their reputation as a great place for college twirlers.

This year, the SDSU Twirlers will include Texas girl, Tatiana Guillen!

Tatiana is from San Antonio, TX, and is currently a student at Antonian College Preparatory, where she is a Feature Twirler. She is coached by Pat Montgomery of the Alamo City Strutters. At SDSU, Tatiana will be majoring in Marine Biology. She will be joined on the field by co-twirler, Keili.

How does this Texas Twirler feel about going all the way to California? "I’m excited to be moving out of state and to experience new things and to meet new people, but I’m also nervous to be leaving home.” We can imagine that is a huge change, but we know with Coach Catherine, she will have plenty of support!

We all want to wish a huge congrats to Tatiana as she represents in San Diego! Go Aztecs!

2020 Fall Twirler Announcements - Keiser University

Hello Texas Twirl Fans!

It is that exciting time of year where twirlers are auditioning for twirling spots for the Fall. We are excited to announce the new Keiser University Feature Twirler, Jennifer Kotzur!


Keiser University, located in West Palm Beach, Florida, was founded in 1977 with the Flagship Campus opening and merging with Northwood University in 2005, resulting in the Keiser University Seahawks! Purity, Truth, and Wisdom prevails as Navy Blue and Sky Blue waves ever true.

This Fall, Jenn (Jennifer) Kotzur of Stockdale, Texas will take her place as Keiser's third ever feature twirler! She is the student of Amber Rhyne Hanel and Whitney King Coons. She is also the reigning Miss World’s Perfect Twirler and 2020 Miss Texas Perfect Twirler Superhero, and she will be representing Texas (virtually) at the World’s Perfect Athlete 2020 this Summer.

Previously, Jenn was the first “Island Girl” Islander Feature Twirler for Texas A & M-Corpus Christi  (2006-11) earning her BA in Social Studies Education. She then continued her education and collegiate twirling at Howard Payne University (2011-2015), graduating in 2016 with a MA in Youth Ministry. Recently Jenn has been bringing baton twirling to the entertainment world as a performing baton twirler for Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Morgan's Wonderland, both in San Antonio.

At Keiser University, Jenn will be pursuing her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction and will have the very unique opportunity with Keiser Athletics as the Team Manager (graduate assistant) and Twirler to the National Champion Keiser University Seahawk Spirit Squads, alongside award-winning coach, Laura Pucker! Jennifer is excited to follow her dreams educationally and athletically. As she tells us, "This all comes as an unexpected blessing and a reminder to all... don’t stop believing!"

Congrats Jenn! We wish you the best of luck at Keiser. We know you will share a little sparkle and Texan hospitality with all you meet in Florida. Go Keiser University Seahawks!
