2022 Fall Twirler Announcements - University of Mary Hardin-Baylor

 Hello Texas Twirl Fans!

It is that exciting time of year where twirlers are auditioning for twirling spots for the Fall. This blog hopes to help spread the excitement by announcing the selections for the lovely twirlers we will see on the field very soon in Texas or representing out of State. If you have an announcement for new twirler selections for 2022-23, please email texastwirlcontact@gmail.com so that we can help spread the word!

Today's we announce the new 2022-2023 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Feature Twirler!

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, also known as UMHB, is located in Belton, Texas, and is the home of the Crusaders. This coming fall it will also be the home of California Girl, Rachel Buck!

Rachel Buck will be coming to UMHB from Upland, California where she attended the Excelsior Charter School. She is a member of the Tide Twirling Team from Oceanside and is coached by Catherine Watters and Lori Watters, as well as Bonnie Bruckner from The Las Vegas Mob team. At UMHB she will be studying to get her BFA in Graphic Design. Rachel is the 2021 Senior Intermediate All West Regionals X-Strut, Solo, and Pageant winner, and has been competing since she was in the 3rd grade. "I have had the opportunity to compete at competitions around the country. My favorite competitions are USTA and AYOP Nationals and Disney World’s Twirl Mania. I have made several great friends that I wouldn’t have made if it wasn’t for twirling, and I am excited to meet more people in Texas!"

We asked Rachel what is bringing her to Texas and UMHB, and she told us, "I am excited to attend UMHB and twirl. I had the opportunity to tour many colleges and universities over the last few years, but I never could see myself attending them. The first time I went on a tour at UMHB I knew it was where I wanted to attend college. Thanks to my admission counselor, she opened the door for me to start a conversation with the UMHB band director about the possibility of twirling with the band.  I was excited when I received an email from the band director that I was going to be able to twirl while I am attending UMHB. It is a dream come to true to twirl at college."

We are so excited to welcome Rachel to #TeamTexas, and we know she will be an amazing addition to the UMHB Crusaders Marching Band program. Congrats Rachel, and Go Cru!
