2022 Fall Twirler Announcements - Iowa State University

Hello Texas Twirl Fans!

It is that exciting time of year where twirlers are auditioning for twirling spots for the Fall. This blog hopes to help spread the excitement by announcing the selections for the lovely twirlers we will see on the field very soon in Texas and representing out of State. Today we are announcing the newest 2022-23 Iowa State University Feature Twirler!

Iowa State University, also known as ISU, is located in Ames, Iowa, and is the home of the Cyclones. ISU is also the biggest University in Iowa, and a member of the Big 12 Athletic Conference. 

This Fall Iowa State University will also be the home of Texas Twirler Alexandra Kinney!

Alexandra (Lexi) Kinney is from Rockwall, Texas, where she is the Feature Twirler at Rockwall-Heath High School. She is 2022 Southwest Regional Senior Royalty, as well as a member of her High School's Varsity Cheer Team. Lexi is coached by Ashley Moss, and is a member of the Texas Touch of Class, which is coached by Sheila Payne Rigelsky, as well as having twirled with Angel Dunlap and Candy Kimble, with some assistance by Whitney Coons. 

Lexi will be joined on the field by current Iowa State Feature Twirlers, Rachel Lasota and Grace Wood. These three will make a great trio on the field as they represent the Cyclones. Make sure to follow them this Fall by checking out @iowastatefeaturetwirlers on Instagram. 

We all want to wish a huge congrats to Lexi as she represents Texas in Iowa! Go Cyclone Nation!

2022 Fall Twirler Announcements - Texas Tech University

Hello Texas Twirl Fans!

It is that exciting time of year where twirlers are auditioning for twirling spots for the Fall. This blog hopes to help spread the excitement by announcing the selections for the lovely twirlers we will see on the field very soon in Texas and representing out of State. Today we announce the selection of the 2022-23 Texas Tech University Twirlers!

Texas Tech, located in Lubbock, TX, is well known for their National Champion Twirlers. Led by Coach Bethany Tolley, the Texas Tech Twirlers perform at football games, school events, and compete on the National level. Auditions for the Fall twirling line were this weekend in Lubbock, and they selected nine twirlers for the Texas Tech Twirling Line and one Feature Twirler.

Back for her second Season will be Texas Tech Feature Twirler, Kirby Stanek. Congrats Kirby!


Returning to the field with Kirby will be second year Head Twirler, Chailie Alsaffar, and veteran twirlers Audrey Hartley, Anna Hughes, Laney Whitefield, & Emma Zuar.


Joining the team for the 2022-2023 Season will be newcomers Sophie Carnes, Ava Medellin, Aubren Montgomery, and Taylor Tubbs! 

  • Sophie is from Corpus Christi, TX, where she was a Feature Twirler at Flour Bluff High School, and is coached by Kathy O’Leary
  • Ava is from Gonzales, TX, where she was the Feature Twirler for Gonzales High School, and is coached by Pat Montgomery. 
  • Aubren Montgomery is from Rockwall, TX, where she attended Rockwall High School, and she is coached by Sheila Payne Rigelsky & the Texas Touch of Class coaches. 
  • Taylor Tubbs is from Frenship, TX where she was the Feature Twirler at Frenship High School, and is coached by Brittany Ashcraft. 

Congrats ladies on being part of another year at this awesome twirling institution. We know it is going to be a great season and we cannot wait to see you all perform together. Guns Up! Wreck Em Tech!

2022 Fall Twirler Announcements - E. TX Baptist University

Today's post announces the selection of the 2022-2023 East Texas Baptist University Twirlers!


East Texas Baptist University is located in Marshall, Texas, and is the home of the ETBU Tigers! While rocking the Navy and Gold, the ETBU Tiger Twirlers entertain alongside the Marching Band at games and other University events. For the 2022-2023 season, ETBU selected a Feature Twirler, Head Twirler, and Seven Tiger Twirlers!

Congrats to returning Feature Twirler, Jana Higgs, from Henderson, Texas. Jana will be accompanied on the field by Head Twirler, Courtney Smith, also from Henderson, Texas, and Twirlers Maddie Shirley, Emma Coleman, Taylor Buchanan, Kala Oliver, Katie King, Stefanie Bellar, and Salina Kilmer

We look forward to seeing Jana, Courtney, and all the Tiger Twirlers represent ETBU this Fall!

2022 Fall Twirler Announcements - Stephen F. Austin State University

Hello Texas Twirl Fans!

It is that exciting time of year where twirlers are auditioning for twirling spots for the Fall. This blog hopes to help spread the excitement by announcing the selections for the lovely twirlers we will see on the field very soon in Texas or representing out of State. Today's post announces the selection of the 2022-23 Stephen F Austin Feature Twirler & Twirl-O-Jacks!


SFA, located in Nacogdoches, TX, has a "timeless" reputation regarding baton twirlers thanks to their Twirl-O-Jack twirling line. The TOJ's are know for their "Grace...Poise...Style!" They perform at football games and many events representing their University.

The Lumberjacks are also proud to annually present their Feature Twirler who performs separate but  complimentary of the TOJs! Auditions for both the Feature Twirler position and the Twirl-O-Jacks were held last weekend on the SFA Campus. 

For 2022-23 the SFA Community is excited to welcome the new Lumberjack Feature Twirler, Kellen Coke! Kellen will be graduating from Bullard High School, where she was their Feature Twirler, this May. She is the 2021 Senior Intermediate Southwest Regional Pageant Winner, and is coached by Patti Mickey & Kayli Mickey McIntosh with the Mickey's Majorettes, and Jeri Coke with Twirl Revolutions. Kellen is so excited to live out her dream as the SFA Feature Twirler this Fall!


The 2022-23 Twirl-O-Jack twirling line will be lead by Head Twirl-O-Jack, Samantha Denby, and Assistant Head Twirl-O-Jack, Sheridan Tayler. These ladies will be joined by returning TOJs Michalla Byrd, Jessica Bitner, Erica Bitner, Skyla Speer, Kayden Davis, Kylie Mashburn, Tayler Davis, and Verania Martinez, and new TOJS Clair Hunter, Caitlyn Martin, Julianna McKinney, Charity Volkman, and Makayla Oliver. 

Congrats to Feature Twirler Kellen, Head Twirl-O-Jack Samantha, Asst. Head Twirl-O-Jack Sheridan, and all the 2022-23 Twirl-O-Jacks. We know you all will continue the T-O-J tradition of exciting and original performances this coming Fall. Go Jacks!

Today's post announces the selections of the 2022-2023 Tyler Junior College Feature Twirlers!


Tyler Junior College, located in Tyler, Texas, and is the home of the Apaches. This coming Fall, the TJC Apache Band and the Touch of Gold Auxiliary will also proudly feature two new faces, Avery Prnka and Jacquline Weisinger!

Jacquline is coming to TJC from Van High School and Avery from Joaquin High School. Both twirlers will be starting as Freshman this Fall. Help us wish these ladies a great rest of their senior year! We cannot wait for them to be on campus full time at TJC and for the Apache community to see them in action. Congrats!
