We are looking forward to presenting the award to that special coach this year!

2019 Fall Twirler Announcements - University of Hawai‘i

Hello Texas Twirl Fans!

It is that exciting time of year where twirlers are auditioning for twirling spots for the Fall. This blog hopes to help spread the excitement by announcing the selections for the lovely twirlers we will see on the field very soon in Texas, and representing out of State. If you have an announcement for new twirler selections for 2019-20, please email texastwirlcontact@gmail.com so that we can help spread the word!

Today we have a super exciting post. We are excited to announce that newest University of Hawai'i Feature Twirler for the 2019-20 Fall Season is Texas twirler, Callyn Marvell!

The University of Hawai'i, located in Honolulu, is the home of the Rainbow Warriors. While not only being an amazing vacation destination, Hawai'i boasts a great education system and marching band program.

How did this Texas Girl end up on the islands of Hawai'i? According to Callyn's statement in the announcement on the University of Hawai'i Bands Facebook Page, "Six years ago at our Texas State competition I met a former University of Hawai'i Feature Twirler. After speaking with her I thought about how awesome it would be to twirl in Hawai'i. It was always my dream to be a collegiate twirler. The honor was mine when I was selected as the Feature Twirler for the University of Hawai'i. The fact that I get to twirl and be in Hawai'i has to be two of my favorite things. I cannot wait to get to Hawai'i, see the amazing beaches (hopefully getting to twirl fire on one of them), immerse myself into the local culture, and to finally meet my new band family.”

Callyn is currently a student at Clark High School, where she the Feature Twirler and the Student Government President, and holds many State & Regional titles including being the 2017 Junior Intermediate Texas State Pageant Winner. She is from San Antonio, where she is a member of the Texas Gems. Callyn has been accepted in to the Pre-Nursing program at the University of Hawai'i.

We want to wish a huge congrats to Callyn as she begins her journey in Hawai'i! Go Rainbow Warriors!
