2019 Fall Twirler Announcements - Texas State University

Hello Texas Twirl Fans!

It is that exciting time of year where twirlers are auditioning for twirling spots for the Fall. This blog hopes to help spread the excitement by announcing the selections for the lovely twirlers we will see on the field very soon in Texas, and representing out of State. If you have an announcement for new twirler selections for 2019-20, please email texastwirlcontact@gmail.com so that we can help spread the word!

Today's post announces the selection of the 2019-20 Texas State University Feature Twirlers!

Texas State, located in San Marcos, TX, is the home of the "Pride of the Hill Country" - the Bobcat Marching Band. Annually, the BMB selects up to two twirlers to serve in their feature positions. Auditions were held for the 2018-19 season on April 27th, and two twirlers were selected.

Returning to the BMB this season will be Kaylee Williams! Kaylee is from Whitehouse, Texas, and is coached by Shelby Elder and Janice Jackson Seamands. This Fall she will be a sophomore and she is majoring in Computer Science. Kaylee is also a Texas State University Ambassador.

New to the Maroon & Gold will be Megan Lazrine! Megan is from Sweeny, Texas, and is coached by Jana Reid. She is an incoming freshman and will be making in Business Management. Megan will graduate from Columbia High School, where she was the Feature Twirler, later this month.

A very exciting thing for these two twirlers this season is that the Bobcat Marching Band will be celebrating their 100th Anniversary! This will involve a ton of big celebrations, but most importantly is the Anniversary Kick Off Alumni Marching Band game on September 7th. Were you a former SWT or Texas State Feature Twirler? You can join these two ladies on the field at the alumni game. While the registration link is not available yet, it will be available shortly at www.txstate.edu/bands/bands/marchingband.html.

We look forward to seeing these two young ladies as they lead the Pride of the Hill Country and are featured at halftime in the Bobcat Stadium. Congrats to Kaylee & Megan! Eat 'Em Up Cats!
