Hello Texas Twirl Fans!
To celebrate our new Regional title holders, over the next few weeks, we will be recognizing our Regional Winners here on the blog. Congrats to all of these talented twirlers on their success at Regionals.
Today we will be recognizing the 2023 Miss Majorettes of the Southwest!
Kirby Stanek
College Miss Majorette of the Southwest
Kirby is from Lubbock, Texas, and is the Feature Twirler for Texas Tech University. She is a member of the BT Performers, as well as the Texas Tech Twirlers, and is coached by Bethany Tolley. Her favorite memory from regionals was "performing my Collegiate routine in front of everyone! It is so much fun to perform as a College Twirler, and being able to represent Texas Tech is a dream come true!" This summer she is especially looking forward to AYOP since it will be the first time her grandparents have been able to attend. "They have always wanted to be able to come, and this year they will be there!"
Jaidyn Poole
Senior Miss Majorette of the Southwest
Jaidyn is from Katy, Texas, where she is the Feature Twirler for Seven Lakes High School. She is a member of the Mickey's Majorettes and is coached by Patti Mickey & Kayli Mickey-McIntosh. Her favorite memory from regionals weekend was the honor of hearing her name called to receive the Shane Downey Memorial award, following in the footsteps of other top twirlers from the region. This summer at AYOP she is looking forward to seeing her friends from around the country, and spending time with her Mickey's Majorette teammates.
Izzy Pell
Junior Miss Majorette of the Southwest
Izzy is from Dallas, Texas, where she is the Feature Twirler for Woodrow Wilson High School. She is a member of Texas Touch of Class and is coached by Sheila Payne Rigelsky. Her favorite memory from Regionals was sitting with her team and holding each other's hands while they waited for their names to be announced. This summer, she is, of course, looking forward to the amazing pretzels, but also "to spending a week with my teammates and seeing some of the girls I made friends with last year again."
Hailey Wood
Pre-Teen Miss Majorette of the Southwest
Hailey is from Cedar Park, Texas, and this fall will be the Feature Twirler at Henry Middle School. She is a member of the Mickey's Majorettes and is coached by Kayli Mickey-McIntosh & Patti Mickey for individual events, and is a member of Twirl ATX for teams. Her favorite memory from Regionals was getting to perform her regional x-strut in front of the same judge who awarded her TMOTY at AYOP with last summer. "I thought she might recognize me, so I knew I needed to do my best, and it felt great giving it my all!". This summer at Nationals, she is most looking forward to sharing all of her favorite AYOP traditions with many of her teammates that will be attending for the first time!
