Hello Texas Twirl Fans!
Can you believe we are already halfway through May? We are less than two weeks away from the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Twirling competition and less than a month away State! Before this season continues to fly by, it is time to recognize our next round of Pageant winners!
To celebrate our new Regional Pageant title holders, over the next few weeks, we will be recognizing them here on the blog. Congrats to all of these talented twirlers on their success at Regionals.
Today we will be recognizing the 2026 Southwest Regional Intermediate Pageant Winners!
Senior Intermediate Pageant Winner
Emma Regalado
Emma is from Austin, Texas, where she is the Feature Twirler for Westlake High School. She is a member of Twirl ATX where she is coached by Ashley Wood, as well as Whitney Coons & Jassandra Sadler. Her favorite memory from Regionals was getting to help coach the younger Twirl ATX girls and watch them perform their team routine. "I also loved my crowning moment because it was truly a dream come true!" For AYOP this summer, she is looking forward to spending time with all of her teammates during all of the Twirl ATX nationals traditions, "and of course AYOP pretzels!"
Junior Intermediate Pageant Winner
Ava Gourley
Ava is from San Antonio, Texas, where she is the Feature Twirler for Ronald Reagan High School. She is a member of the Twirling Sweet Sensations and is coached by Michele Pangrac. Her favorite memory from Regionals was performing and winning the Advanced Junior Southwest Regional X-strut title, as well as spending time with her coach and all her Sweet Sensations teammates. This summer she is especially looking forward to AYOP since it will be her first time at Nationals as an advanced twirler and is hoping to qualify for a Blue Curtain Solo at State!
Pre-Teen Intermediate Pageant Winner
Addyson Mead
Addyson is from Tomball, TX, where she is the Feature Twirler at Hofius Intermediate School. She is coached by Sue Young of the Texas Twirlers. Her favorite memory from Regionals was getting to explore Palo Duro Canyon and eat at the Big Texan with her twirling family. This summer at AYOP, she is looking forward to getting to represent Texas and to see all of her twirling friends from across the states.
Juvenile Intermediate Pageant Winner
Kaitlyn Kondo
Kaitlyn is from Austin, Texas. She is a member of Twirl ATX where she is coached by Ashley Wood, as well as Whitney Coons & Jassandra Sadler. Her favorite memory from Regionals was getting to paint rocks with her team at the team dinner. This summer at AYOP she is excited to see everyone and hopefully put her best routines on the floor.
