Hello Texas Twirl Fans!
What an exciting summer for #TeamTexas! Between State, Nationals, and the IBTF events, we have all been going non-stop. Before we jump headfirst into field season, we wanted to take some time and celebrate our State pageant winners! Over the next few weeks, we will be recognizing them here on the blog. Congrats to all of these talented twirlers on their success at State this past June!
Today we will be recognizing the 2023 Texas State Beginner Pageant Winners!
Jeannie Pruett
Senior Beginner Pageant Winner
Jeannie is from Cedar Park, Texas, but is currently attending Sam Houston State University, where she is a Feature Twirler. She is a member of Twirl ATX and is coached Whitney Coons as well as Ashley Wood & Kaylee Williams in addition to working with Kelley McCormick for field twirling. Jeannie's favorite memory from State was watching her twirl little sis catch her first toss illusion on the floor in competition, and for AYOP, she was most excited to compete in Collegiate Downfield while meeting other collegiate twirlers.
Nattie DeLeon
Junior Beginner Pageant Winner
Nattie is from Cibolo, Texas, where she is a Feature Twirler for Byron P. Steele High School. She is a member of the Twirling Sweet Sensations and is coached by MIchele Pangrac and Liane Aramaki. Her favorite memory from State was the award ceremony. "I loved just sitting with my teammates on our blankets and experiencing the anticipation while waiting to hear the results!" For AYOP, she was most excited to experience "everything, especially as a pageant winner for the first time!"
Joslyn Rodriguez
Pre-Teen Beginner Pageant Winner
Joslyn is from San Antonio, Texas. She is a member of the Twirling Sweet Sensations and is coached by Michele Pangrac. Her favorite memory from State was spending time with her team and supporting her friends. For AYOP, she was most excited about getting to meet new twirlers and being able to watch the collegiate twirlers.
Evelyn Winter
Juvenile Beginner Pageant Winner
Evelyn is from Fort Worth, Texas, and is coached by Vicki Ray and Tori Mays Elyea. Her favorite memory from State was having a no drop State solo and catching her four spin on the floor. For AYOP, she was most excited about the giant soft pretzels and seeing her friends from other states.
