Hello Texas Twirl Fans!
Can you believe it has already been a month since the 2024 Competition Season wrapped up with the National Baton Twirling Championship! Our Texas Twirlers did an amazing job in South Bend, and we want to make sure before football season kicks off and our focus moves to those stadium lights, that we take a moment to celebrate our State Pageant Winners.
To celebrate our Texas State Pageant title holders, over the next week, we will be recognizing them here on the blog. Congrats to all of these talented twirlers on their success at State! Go #TeamTexas!
Today we will be recognizing the 2024 Texas State Beginner Pageant Winners!
Senior Beginner Pageant Winner
Dannah Miller
Dannah is from Carthage, Texas, where she recently graduated from Carthage High School as Senior Class President. She is coached by Vicki Ray of the Vick's Chicks. Her favorite memory from State was "when so many people came together, including my coach, to provide me with jazz shoes and batons to perform with when I didn't have any equipment with me. I actually could not have gotten to this point with them, and I am beyond grateful!" Last month at Nationals, Dannah enjoyed spending time with and supporting her team, as well as learning from them.
Junior Beginner Pageant Winner
Emily Bartek
Emily is from Goldthwaite, Texas, where she is the Feature Twirler. She is a member of Twirl ATX and is coached by Ashley Wood as well as Whitney Coons & Kaylee Williams. Her favorite memory from State was getting to compete and make memories with her team. Sadly, due to a conflict with cross country camp, Emily was not able to attend Nationals, but was happy that she could pass down the Nationals pageant representation to her Twirl ATX teammate, Emma.
Pre-Teen Beginner Pageant Winner
Candace Johnson
Candace is from Corpus Christi, Texas. In addition to being coached by Kristen Tate, she is also a member of the Heart of Texas Twirlers where she is coached by Mary Ann Pozzi. Her favorite memory from State was winning her pageant because "I worked so hard, and it was the best gift I could get from all of it!" At Nationals Candace had a great experience hanging out with her friends from all around the country, and of course, having many of the famous pretzels.
Juvenile Beginner Pageant Winner
Jaina Rodriguez
Jaina is from Converse, TX. She is a member of the Twirling Sweet Sensations and is coached by Michele Pangrac. Her favorite memory from State was performing a team routine in competition for the first time. At Nationals, Jaina enjoyed spending the week with her teammates and making new friends!
Kaitlyn Kondo
Kaitlyn is from Austin, Texas. She is a member of Twirl ATX and is coached by Ashley Wood as well as Whitney Coons & Kaylee Williams. Her favorite memory from State was catching her two spin in front of the judges for the first time as a birthday present for her mom. At Nationals, Kaitlyn enjoyed being able to put one of her best routines of the season on the floor in front of the blue curtain.
CONGRATS TO ALL OUR STATE BEGINNER PAGEANT WINNERS!
