Friday Night Lights Feature - Troup High School

Hello Texas Twirl Fans!

It is GAME DAY and we are ready for those Friday Night Lights! We hope you have enjoyed following our Instastory last Friday night, and we can’t wait to further introduce you to this great group of twirlers.

Today’s Friday Night Lights Feature is the Troup High School Majorettes!

Troup High School, located in Troup, Texas, is the home of the Tigers, and a great tradition of awesome twirling under those stadium lights. Led by coach, Paige Keitt, and band director, Bobby Castillo, each year the Troup Marching Band puts together a great majorette line to entertain the crowds. For the 2021 year, this includes Feature Twirler Jaycee Berryhill, and Majorettes Cali Mendonca, Hannah Massey, Reagan Rogers, Ellie Lewis, Faith Garrett, Cadence Tippett, Jacey Benge, Lindsey Lowry, & Natalie Godejohn.

We asked the twirlers how they were selected, and they told us that each Spring they hold auditions. For the auditions they must learn a group routine and also perform a solo. They are then ranked to determine who is the Feature and who makes the line. Cadence said that the process can be nerve wracking, but Reagan told us that everyone is very supportive.

Now that we have learned a little about how they became Troup twirlers, lets learn about them!
