2020 Fall Twirler Announcements - Texas State University

Hello Texas Twirl Fans!

It is that exciting time of year where twirlers are auditioning for twirling spots for the Fall. This blog hopes to help spread the excitement by announcing the selections for the lovely twirlers we will see on the field very soon in Texas, and representing out of State. If you have an announcement for new twirler selections for 2020-21, please email texastwirlcontact@gmail.com so that we can help spread the word!

Today we announce the selection of the 2020-21 Texas State University Feature Twirlers!

Texas State, located in San Marcos, TX, is the home of the "Pride of the Hill Country" - the Bobcat Marching Band. Annually, the BMB selects twirlers to serve in their feature positions. Auditions were held for the 2020-21 season via video auditions earlier this month, and for the first time in many, many years, three twirlers were selected to represent Texas State!

Returning to the Bobcat Marching Band this season will be Kaylee Williams and Megan Lazrine, and new to the Texas State University Jim Wacker field will be incoming freshman, Cayla Watson!

Kaylee is from Whitehouse, Texas, and is coached by Shelby Elder and Janice Jackson Seamands. As a member of the class of 2022, she is majoring in Computer Science. Megan is from Sweeny, Texas, and is coached by Jana Reid. Also a member of the Class of 2022, she is majoring in Business Management.

New to Texas State this Fall is incoming freshman, Cayla Watson! Cayla is from Corpus Christi, Texas, where she is a Feature Twirler at Flour Bluff High School, and has been coached by Keely Davis and Michael Lopez. She will be pursing her degree in Civil Engineering at Texas State.

We look forward to seeing these three talented young ladies as they lead the Pride of the Hill Country and are featured at halftime in the Bobcat Stadium. Congrats to Kaylee, Megan, and Cayla! Eat 'Em Up Cats!
